Eddie Dunbar to return to French race after strong debut last year

Eddie Dunbar did very well in the French race at the start of last season. He goes back to the same event next week for his season-opening event

Eddie Dunbar is set to open his 2020 season next week as part of a strong Team Ineos selection picked for the Tour de la Provence.

The young Irish rider was 7th overall last year after finishing in the top 10 on two stages.

He also put in a last stage attack in a bid to win the race outright and was only caught with a kilometre to the finish.

The event features a number of stages on which the field should split on short sharp climbs and it can really suit Dunbar if he is in the same early season form as 12 months ago.

The race gets underway next Thursday and features four stages with Dunbar in the same team as Pavel Sivakov and Gianni Moscon.
