Eddie Dunbar (23) signs long contract extension with Team Ineos

Eddie Dunbar has enjoyed a great year with Team Ineos and is staying with the team after agreeing a long contract extension

Eddie Dunbar, the 23-year-old Irish pro cyclist is set to ride with Team Ineos for at least the next three years.

The British WorldTour team confirmed today that Dunbar has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at the squad until he is at least 26 years old.

Dunbar joined Team Sky, as it was then, just over one
year ago when his team at the time, Aqua Blue Sport, effectively collapsed.

The young Irishman took advantage of the unusual late-season
move by riding well in several Italian semi classics, helping Gianni Moscon win
two of them.

He then went to the U23 World Championships as one of the
favourites and while he felt below par that day he still rode very well.

Shortly after the Worlds it was confirmed that Dunbar had
signed a one-year contract with Team Sky for 2019.

The squad has since changed its named and sponsorship and
now races under the Team Ineos livery.

While news of Dunbar’s contract plans for next year and
beyond was not clear before today, it perhaps comes as no surprise he has opted
to stay at the team.
