Eddie Dunbar on new team move | "I'm looking forward to competing in bigger races"

Eddie Dunbar celebrates his general classification win at Tour de Hongrie and now the Corkman is headed to BikeExchange-Jayco for the next three seasons

Eddie Dunbar's time at Ineos Grenadiers will expire at the end of this year, at which point he will begin a new three-year contract with Australian World Tour team BikeExchange Jayco, where he will get opportunities in the Grand Tours.

The 25-year-old Irishman has been confirmed as a BikeExchange-Jayco rider, from January 1st next, in a statement issued by the team today on what is the first day of cycling's official transfer window.

“I am very excited about spending the next three years with Team BikeExchange-Jayco," the Irishman said. "I am really looking forward to getting some more opportunities to compete in some bigger races and to continue to develop as a rider.

"I have high hopes to add to an already great and successful team, as shown with their performances this year, with stage wins in both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me.”

Brent Copeland, the general manager of BikeExchange-Jayco, said he was very happy to have secured Dunbar's services for the next three years.

“It is really exciting for us to be bringing on such a talented, young but experienced rider on to the team and this year, Eddie has had a really strong season," Copeland said.

"We have watched him step up a level and we believe he will fit into our team very well and play a huge role in strengthening our squad in stage races.
