Eddie Dunbar in same line-up as Egan Bernal for season debut in France

Eddie Dunbar will get his 2021 season underway in France on Thursday in a really strong team line-up

Eddie Dunbar has been named in the Ineos Grenadiers team for Tour de la Provence alongside Egan Bernal. The race in France gets underway on Thursday.

Two of the four stages should suit the faster riders in the field as they are likely to end in sprints while the other two are hillier.

That lumpier terrain can suit Irish rider Dunbar, especially stage 3 on Saturday to Mont Ventoux-Chalet Reynard.

Dunbar was 7th overall in the race in 2019 and finished 6th overall last year when he placed 5th and 6th on the two harder stages.

The 24-year-old Irishman has not raced since stage 3 of Tirreno-Adriatico last September when he crashed and fractured his collarbone. He will be keen to make a good start to the new campaign in coming days.
