After looking very strong in Italy yesterday, Eddie Dunbar was due back into action for Team Ineos in Milano-Torino (1.HC) today, Wednesday.

The race features a challenging uphill finish and can suit Dunbar as well as team mates Egan Bernal, Ivan Sosa and Tao Geoghegan Hart.

The 179km event will pose a stern test, with climbs of 4.3km and 4.9km just before the finish; the second the ascent to the finish line.

Both climbs, which come one after another, feature an average gradient of nine per cent.

Coming just days ahead of Il Lombardia, the race is a tune-up for that Italian classic for Team Ineos.

It is also one where Tour de France champion Bernal could take his first one-day victory for his team.

However, Dunbar will also fancy his chances of a good ride and result if he gets the opportunity from the team.

When a strongman's breakaway pulled clear yesterday at Tre Valli Varesine (1.HC) Dunbar made the cut, only to go off course with those he was with.

However, the fact he made the group that pulled clear when the racing was really on is a clear sign his form is holding firm right to the end of the campaign.
