E-bike cyclist (50) seriously injured in Dublin crash involving driver

A man on an e-bike has been left with serious injuries in a Dublin hospital after a crash involving a driver in a car.

The injured man, who is aged 50, was taken from the scene in Cabra to hospital, where he was still being treated.

Gardaí are now investigating the incident yesterday, Monday, June 1st, and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

"Emergency services and gardaí responded to reports of a collision involving a car and an e-bike on Faussagh Avenue, Cabra, Dublin 7, at approximately 7:40pm," gardaí said in a statement.

"The cyclist, a 50-year-old man, was taken to the Mater Hospital with serious injuries. The scene was examined and the road has since reopened.

"Investigations remain ongoing and gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward."

Any road users with camera footage - including dash-cam - from the area at the time are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
