Dublin bike shop marks Christmas with unique new service...

One Dublin bike shop has really thrown itself into the Christmas vibe; and a way that's genuinely useful to its customers.

The Big Man may have long made his list and is already well into checking it twice, but most of us are still going around in the flap about Christmas.

If you're anything like us at stickybottle there isn't a single present bought yet nor a child in the house washed.

But fear not, a Dublin bike shop has stepped in to help with one time consuming job; getting your Christmas tree home.

If you have a car you can squeeze your tree into the back (and follow that up with having to hoover the inside).

And if you're strictly a two wheels man or woman, getting a Christmas tree home can be a real pain in the neck.

But the new Dublin Loves Bikes shop in Dun Laoghaire is offering one of their new cargo bikes to anyone who wants to use it to bring their tree home.

You'll have to return it after the job is done, of course.

Their 8 Freight cargo bikes were designed by Mike Burrows, who also designed the Lotus bike that Chris Boardman rode to Olympic glory.

Cllr Ossian Smyth of the Green Party took up the offer in recent days and along with his young son Felix brought their tree home by cargo bike courtesy of Dublin Loves Bikes.
