Video: Cyclist records driver's incredible short-cut in Dublin traffic

This driver goes up onto the footpath, bypassing traffic and then a set of traffic lights as they drive back out onto the road.

We’ve published many videos on stickybottle featuring some very ropey driving and cycling. But the incident in this clip takes the biscuit.

The video was published on YouTube today by José Jiménez. It was filmed as he was cycling down Griffith Avenue in north Dublin.

As the cyclist in riding along the bike lane in the rain, his footage picks up a car being driven onto the pavement.

Home owners living along this stretch regularly park on the pavement or drive into their driveways.

However, it soon becomes clear the driver of the black Nissan is not one of those.

After undertaking the line of other vehicles, the driver then turns back onto the road, bypassing a set of red lights and heads off into the traffic.

This has to be seen to be believed and cyclist Jiménez was clearly stunned himself.

“I thought I had seen everything,” he wrote while sharing his bike camera footage on his YouTube account.

“This selfish motorist decides to drive on the footway in order to avoid the traffic queue. Unbelievable!

“Could not manage to get the reg, otherwise this would have gone straight to the Gardaí.”
