A driver was so annoyed at an exchange between a cyclist and another driver that he got out of his own car to protest by firing a kick at the cyclist. However, he instantly regretted it when he missed the cyclist and knocked himself off his feet and onto his backside on the road.
The incident was recorded by the cyclist and would make for amusing viewing - below - if the incident wasn't so serious.
The cyclist who recorded the clip is based in the UK, where the video was recorded today. He said when he saw a driver with a phone in his hand he went to knock on his window.
But, he said, the man a car in traffic behind appeared to be annoyed by this and so got out of his car and fired a kick at him, which only succeeded in knocking himself off his feet and onto the road.
"Recorded a phone driver this morning," the cyclist said. "Driver behind, get so angry about me "touchin' the mota" (knocking on the window) that he gets out and does this. Classic of the genre. Phone driver reported."
The incident on video below is likely to be widely shared, similar to the video that emerged a few years ago when a driver completely lost his cool and then tripped while chasing a cyclist at speed: Video: Road rage driver face-plants gutter chasing after cyclist
