Entries are now being accepted for this year's Kerry Group Rás Mumhan which takes place over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in Kerry; April 18th to 21st.

With the race continuing to attract the country's best riders as well as a host of teams from Europe, organisers are advising those planning to ride the 2014 edition to get their applications in well before the closing date of March 28th.

The race has grown in stature over the years and enjoys an ever-improving reputation on the continent and it’s no surprise to see a surge in interest again this year.

To that end, race director Tadhg Moriarty has urged home-based riders to get their entries in as soon as possible.

“It’s still only January but we’ve already huge interest from abroad again,” he said.

“Last year we had three Dutch teams and this year we are expecting a similar number. We’ve also interest shown again from the English teams and the Isle of Man team will be coming back.

“We know how much they enjoyed the race this year . The Felt Colbornes team had last year's final stage winner Matt Higgins in their line-up and they were one team who said they were really impressed and would love to return.”

Though the exact details of the stages have yet to be finalised, it is expected that the first, third and final stages will follow a similar route to previous years, with the finer points of Saturday's stage two yet to be ironed out.

The entry form can be downloaded below, and entrants should be aware of the amended regulations for this year's edition of the race.

Among the changes is the prohibition of individual entries; a clear statement from the organisers that the race is a team event.

As well as that, each team must consist of at least four and a maximum of six riders. And where more than one team from a club is entered, the first team must consist of six riders before a second team is registered. The second team must have a full roster of six riders before any third team can be entered.

Riders who are members of  a UCI registered team may only ride the race as part  of a  national, provincial or county team in order to comply with UCI regulations.

Entries are €65 and clubs or teams interested in taking part should contact race secretary, Mary Concannon on 00 353 64 6644396 / 00 353 87 2802071 or [email protected].
