DJ Dom Whiting is bringing his Drum & Bass On The Bike act to Dublin this weekend having proven a massive hit across the UK and in any of the Continental European cities he has visited.
The event - which all are welcome to join and which is free - starts from the Hugh Lane Gallery at 2pm this Sunday, August 14th. The exact route will be revealed in coming days, with Whiting confirming today the event in Dublin is definitely on for this Sunday.
‘Drum & Bass On The Bike’ is effectively an open invitation to anyone and everyone to turn up on their bikes and join Whiting as he leads a parade of cyclists through city streets. The events are effectively a celebration of music and cycling and are intended to foster a carnival atmosphere.
Whiting, who works as a DJ, has rigged his mixing machine onto a bike, from which he plays his tunes and livestreams the parades he leads. The events have become so popular they formed part of BBC’s coverage of the Euro 2021 tournament.
Whiting is from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire and began his cycling tours during the first period of lock-down in 2020, when gigs and festivals were cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions. He rigged his mixing deck onto a custom-made bike and went mobile with his DJ sets while encouraging people to join him on their bikes.
