Details of public events from tomorrow, Thursday, with Nicolas Roche & Martyn Irvine

Nicolas Roche is in Trinity College Dublin tomorrow evening, Thursday, for a public interview - admission €5 on the door - and has his Nicolas Roche Classic Sportive in Co Meath on Saturday, while Martyn Irvine will be the star turn at a slightly more formal affair in Wexford next month.

There are a couple of good off-season events coming up that we wanted to bring you news of.

Firstly, Nicolas Roche is in Ireland and is appearing in a few places over the next few days. He's got his Nicolas Roche Classic Sportive this coming Saturday, October 19th, at Tayto Park in Co Meath.

It's a sportive with a short family ride of 9km that sounds ideal for parents who want to bring their kids along. There's a stop halfway for a rest and drinks and if your children are really small but can still cycle, you can always turn back a little early to keep it nice and short for them.

Roche is also putting on two longer rides, of 50km and 90k. He'll be on hand for the full day to have a chat with people, sign autographs and have photos taken.

He's bringing Amstel Gold winner and 5th placed rider in this year's Tour de France Roman Kreuziger with him, so it sounds like a good one.

Wexford Wheelers are hosting an evening with Ireland's world track champion Martyn Irvine on Saturday November 9th.

It's being put on in honour of Irvine's amazing win at the Worlds this year in the scratch race, not to mention his silver medal in the pursuit on the same day.

The evening with Irvine also marks the 40th anniversary of Wexford Wheelers. The event details are in the poster below. It involves pre-dinner drinks, followed by dinner and entertainment afterwards, all taking place in the Riverbank House Hotel in Wexford.
