Contrary to some reports earlier in the month that the race was cancelled, Kanturk CC has confirmed its annual May Bank Holiday weekend race the Kanturk Three-Day is definitely going ahead.

The race, which runs from Saturday to Monday, is one of the most popular stage races on the domestic calendar as it caters for youths up to A2 riders.

The top billing is the A2/A3 race which Irish paracycling tandem rider Damien Shaw won last year.

An Irish Junior team has been slated to start and that line-up, would possibly include last Sunday’s A3 race-winner in Nenagh, Ryan Mullen. Their results will feed into the national team selection process for the World Road Race Championships in September.

Entry for the race is by post only and all applications must be in by next Wednesday, May 2nd.

The entry fee is €50 for seniors and €25 for youths and must be sent to race organiser Dan Curtin (Coolageela, Kanturk, Co. Cork).
