Deceuninck-QuickStep has made a new signing to reinforce Sam Bennett's sprint lead-out train for next season.
Josef Černý, the 27-year-old Czech rider who raced with CCC Team this year, won stage 19 of the Giro d'Italia this year with a solo move from the breakaway.
He has also been Czech TT champion twice, including this year, and was crowned road race champion in 2018 as well as winning a stage and the overall at the Czech Cycling Tour in 2017.
While Deceuninck-QuickStep already has a very strong lead-out train, the team has decided to bolster its strength for the lead-out and its general strength by signing Černý, though he can also target his own results.

He said he was delighted to join the team and believed he could contribute strongly towards the team lead-out; the main beneficiary of that resource being double stage winner and green jersey winner at the Tour, Bennett.
“It has been a difficult season for everyone and I am excited to have now joined one of the best teams in the peloton,” Černý said.
“I think I can add to the squad’s famous lead-out train,
as well as working hard on the front when needed, and I have also shown that I
can take my own results when I have good legs.
“I am really looking forward to meeting everyone soon and
planning for the new season ahead.”
Team boss Patrick Lefevere said when Černý came on the
transfer market this year he was too strong a rider to pass up on.
“He is a strong and hard-working rider, who can add to
the group, as well as being competitive for himself. It adds another dynamic to
our squad and we are delighted to have him with us next year,” he said.
