Scottish trials rider Danny MacAskill has shot a film to raise awareness about sustainability and it’s absolutely incredible


Danny MacAskill, the Scottish trials rider, has shot this spectacular short film of tricks to raise awareness around sustainability ahead of Cop26, the UN climate change conference.

Already a legend as a result of his previous videos showcasing his skills, MacAskill has really outdone himself with these new stunts as he's ridden along a wind turbine blade hundreds of feet up in the air.

He does 29 tricks to represent the 29 per cent of the world’s energy that comes from renewables. And while his skills on the ground are incredibly impressive, it’s his riding out on the blade of the turbine that steals the show.

“It’s so high up it doesn’t feel high, it’s unrealistically high up,” MacAskill said. “I will say that fibreglass and bike tyres don’t go that well together; it’s slippy stuff.

“I made this film for Cop26 and I didn’t realise how abundant renewable energy is. It’s a good feeling knowing renewable energy is taking off and the balance is changing. Hopefully the planet can start healing."
