Dani Martínez has shared a video of himself descending at 90km per hour on a road he was sharing with traffic, some of which he even overtook as a motorbike followed closely behind while recording him.

Thankfully the session passed off incident free and Martínez posted the footage later on his social media accounts after his training ride in his native Colombia.

However, one wonders what the response within his team, Ineos Grenadiers, was on seeing the footage considering Egan Bernal's high speed crash while training in Colombia almost a year ago.

On that occasion, Bernal suffered life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery in a bid to save his career despite the risk of paralysis. Another of the Ineos Grenadiers riders training in Colombia at the time, Brandon Rivera, crashed just days after Bernal, fracturing and dislocating his elbow as well as dislocating his AC joint.

While Rivera recovered and was able to return to racing in April of last year, Bernal only resumed racing in mid August, eight months after his crash - when he hit a parked bus at speed while descending on his TT bike.
