Currently riding out of his skin at the Giro d’Italia and
looking good for at least a place in the top 20, Eddie Dunbar has had a visit
from home.
A party has traveled out to the race from his home club,
O’Leary Stone Kanturk CC.
And pictured this morning (above) with the Team Ineos rider before the start of stage 16 were Con O'Keeffe and Donal O’Connell; in their Kanturk gear.
Meanwhile back at home; we’ve had reason enough as cyclists to complain about the Garda down the years, though they do a difficult job, to be fair.
One officer making light of her load at the weekend while on duty at an Irish cycling sportive was Garda Caroline Hennessy.
Based in Kenmare Garda station, she was on duty at the Ring of Beara Cycle directing traffic, as the clip below reveals.
She’s an example of the policing we love; dancing away
and high fiving the passing cyclists while still doing the job she was there to
do.
This next video below captures the moment the Jumbo-Visma team car was setting off after a natural break only to realise Primoz Roglic had suffered a problem up ahead while they were stopped.
Roglic was isolated in the lead group on Sunday’s stage
15 before the late final climb began.
And when he had a mechanical he found his team car wasn’t behind as the staff had stopped for a pee.
This clip captures what it was like in the car when news came through Roglic was stricken a long way up the road from the out of position team car.
