Dan Martin has been unveiled as a new Israel Start Up Nation rider at a team launch event in Tel Aviv.
The squad raced as Israel Cycling Academy last year but has since taken over the WorldTour licence held by Katusha-Alpecin last year.
Martin was given start billing today as the team was unveiled; being called up last of the WorldTour men where his record of winning at the very highest level was emphasised.
The new sponsor for the Israel Cycling Academy is Start-Up Nation Central, a Tel Aviv-based non-profit organisation that connects companies around the world to Israeli innovation.
Team founder and own Sylvan Adams told the launch that Israel had more start-ups listed on the Nasdaq than any other national except the US.
Dan Martin remains a UAE Team Emirates rider until the end of this month and his official tenure with Israel Start-Up Nation begins on January 1st.
