Dan Martin and his Israel Start-Up Nation team have unveiled a completely new kit especially for the Giro d'Italia.
The team's usual kit, of blue and white, has been ditched for the next three weeks in favour of a very different red and blue look, with the team releasing photos of the riders wearing it this morning.
The team said the kit was designed to showcase sponsor Vini Fantini โ an Italian wine company โ as well as maintaining some blue as a nod to Israel. The clothing has been produced by Israeli company Jinga.
Valentino Sciotti, president of Fantini Group, said he was thankful to the team's owners - Sylvan Adams and Ron Baron - for the โbeautiful giftโ of the jersey during the Italian Grand Tour.
โItโs a tremendous opportunity for us to be under the spotlight in the most important race in Italy. We will live this moment with immense joy and as a further incentive to love this sport even more,โ he said.
The Giro gets underway with a short TT in Turin on Saturday. Having ridden so well in last year's Vuelta, and showed real form at the recent Tour of the Alps, Dan Martin starts the event as a contender for the final podium and for stage wins.
