Dan Martin, Chris Froome season planning underway as "fireworks" predicted

Dan Martin, above, and Chris Froome will be team mates next at Israel Start-Up Nation, whose directeurs are set to meet the week after next to plan their top riders' programme for next year

Israel Start-Up Nation believes Dan Martin and Chris Froome will make a formidable duo on the road next year resulting in “fireworks” in the pro peloton and will set out their race programmes at a team management meeting on December 12th.

Froome and Israel Start-Up Nation’s other new signings
will have their first outing together at a training camp in Israel in January.

The Irish and British riders rode in La Vuelta at the end
of the season with Martin back to his best; winning stage 3 and taking 4th
overall, his best Grand Tour finish ever.

Froome’s race was a very different one as he continues his efforts to regain top condition after his near career-ending crash warming up for a TT at Criterium du Dauphine in June of last year.

Chris Froome was on team duties during La Vuelta but he appeared to get stronger as the race unfolded. Getting a Grand Tour under his belt was an important step in his recovery

Seven-time Grand Tour winner Froome was consigned to domestique duties at La Vuelta for Ineos Grenadiers leader Richard Carapaz.

However, while struggling on the climbs early in the race
Froome began to look much stronger as the 198-stage event progressed, though he
was still a long way of his best.

But Israel Start-Up Nation believes he can return and
challenge for Grand Tour wins, despite saying it may approach the Tour de
France next year with two leaders in the same of Martin and Froome.

Team manager Kjell Carlstrom said
all of the team’s directeurs would meet in Girona the week after next to
discuss rosters for its riders in 2021.

“Of course, Chris Froome brings the
team to another level for the Grand Tours – with Dan Martin and Chris, we can
expect some fireworks,” he said.

"It will be fascinating to see
how well we can perform up against the established big teams. We have a
balanced roster in the sense that we can get results in all types of races, but
our strongest chances will be at stage races.

“We are still underdogs for overall
general classification victories, but we can be in the mix for general classification
podiums. In the next few weeks, we'll sit down and establish a game plan for
that

The team's co-owner Sylvan Adams said with Froome and Martin in the team “exciting times” were ahead and that Israel Start-Up Nation would be targeting podium finishes at Grand Tours next year.
