Delighted Dan Martin and wife Jess celebrate birth of twin girls

Dan Martin taking a great win at the Tour this year, and now he’s even happier after welcoming his twins into the world.

 

Dan Martin has taken to social media to post a photo of his twin daughters who were born just one minute apart this morning.

The Tour de France stage winner said he couldn’t describe how good he felt at the birth of babies Daisy and Ella.

He shared a photo of his wife, Jess, with the babies, saying he was really please to introduce them to his followers.

“My three girls,” his message began. “Cannot explain how I feel right now.

“I would like to introduce you to Daisy and Ella Martin, born at 9:31 and 9:32 this morning. All are doing very well.”

Martin, who is due to ride the World Championships for Ireland on Sunday week, had recently left the Vuelta early to be with his wife as the birth neared.

And while they took their time to arrive, Dan Martin sounded like a very proud dad showing them off today.

It also means Neil Martin - the Irish U23 team manager - has become a grandfather.  And we send our congratultions and best wishes to all of them.
