Cyclist seriously injured in Kerry crash involving driver, gardaí launch investigation

Gardaí are investigating a road crash, involving a driver in a car, that has left a cyclist seriously injured in a Co Kerry hospital

Gardaí in Co Kerry are investigating a road traffic crash that has left a cyclist in his 40s with serious injuries after the collision involving a driver in a car.

The crash occurred at 7:05am this morning, Wednesday, October 1st, on the Oakpark Road in Tralee, with the injured man taken from the scene by ambulance.

"The cyclist - a male in his 40s - was conveyed to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of serious injuries," the Garda said in a statement. "Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

"Any road users who may have camera footage - including dash-cam - and were travelling on the Oakpark Road between 6:45am and 7:15am on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí."
