
A cyclist riding an e-bike has been left in a serious condition in hospital after an early morning crash with a lorry driver in Dublin on Wednesday. The cyclist was taken to ambulance from the scene, with medics administering emergency care to him.
Gardaí have launched an investigation into the crash and are appealing for any witnesses, or any road users who have been recording video footage at the time to come forward.
The crash occurred in Tallaght, Dublin 24, at about 6.15am, with the emergency services immediately alerted to the incident on the N81.
"The collision occurred on the outbound lanes of the N81 between the junctions of Cheeverstown Road and Fortunestown Road," Garda Headquarters in Phoenix Park, north Dublin, said.
"The cyclist, a man in his 20s, was removed from the scene by Ambulance to Tallaght University Hospital. His injuries are understood to be serious. The driver of lorry did not require hospital treatment. Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward."
They are also appealing to those with camera footage - including motorists with dash cam - from the location of the collision, to make it available to them.
