A cyclist has been killed in Dublin after being in collision with a truck at lunchtime today.
The death of the man follows the death of another cyclist, in Co Meath, last weekend.
In the latest fatal incident, the Garda said the deceased man was fatally injured in south Dublin at about 1.30pm.
The road has been closed as part of the Garda investigation. And at the time of writing the man’s body was still at the scene in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14.
Gardai have added the driver of the truck was not injured. And they are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A statement publish by Garda Headquarters in Dublin contained some details of the fatal incident.
“Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a truck which occurred at approximately 1.30pm at White Church Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14,” it said.
“The cyclist (male, age unknown) was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His body currently remains at the scene which has been sealed off to facilitate the Garda Forensic Investigators. The driver of the truck was unharmed.”
Gardaí are appealing for witness to contact Rathfarnham Garda station on (01) 666500. Witnesses can also contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

The man killed last Sunday was cycling on the R153 near Kentstown. The 70-year-old was in collision with a woman driving a car.
