Cyclist injured in hit and run, Meath gardaí searching for driver

Gardaí are investigating another hit and run - resulting in injury to a cyclist - in Co Meath

A Garda inquiry is underway, and an appeal for witnesses has been issued, after a cyclist was injured in a hit and run by a driver last Saturday morning in Co Meath.

Gardaí in the county are still searching for the driver involved and are now seeking the public's help. It is the second recent hit and run resulting in injury to a cyclist in Meath.

The latest offence occurred at about 5:10am las Saturday when the male cyclist was riding at Rathbeggan Village in the direction of Dublin, according to gardaí.

The driver hit the cyclist opposite Rathbeggan National School, with the motorist then leaving the scene. "The cyclist was subsequently treated in hospital for minor injuries," gardaí confirmed.

Gardaí are now seeking witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage, who travelled in the Rathbeggan area between 4:30am and 5:30am last Saturday, January 28th.

On December 8th - on the L2214 Kilcloone to Maynooth road in Co Meath - another cyclist was injured in a hit and run.
