A cyclist has died after a crash in Limerick City, with gardaí now appealing for witnesses to come forward as they try to determine how the fatal collision occurred.

No mention has been made of any other road user being involved, though the Garda inquiry into the fatal crash has only just begun.

It appears the cyclist was able to leave the scene of the incident but later died after his crash on Dublin Road, Mountshannon, yesterday, Tuesday, at about 2pm.
