
A cyclist has been left critically ill after being hit by a Dublin bus in the south of the city.
Gardai have appealed for anyone who witnessed a traffic collision that has left a cyclist critically ill to come forward with information.
The female cyclist was hit by a bus in south Dublin last night, Monday, and remains in a critical condition in a hospital in the city.
A statement from the Garda said the 55-year-old woman was in collision with the bus while cycling on Burlington Road, off Leeson Street Upper in Dublin 4.
The incident occurred at 9.40pm.
The emergency services were called and the woman was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s University Hospital.
The road where the collision occurred was closed for a period and was examined by Garda crash scene investigators.
Gardai in Donnybrook station are investigating the matter.
