
A cyclist injured in a crash with a driver in a car the weekend before last has sadly died from her injuries. The victim, a woman in her 70s, was taken from the crash scene in Co Sligo to hospital on Sunday. October 2nd.
However, efforts since then by medical staff to save her life were not successful and the woman was pronounced dead earlier today.
In a brief statement on the incident Garda Headquarters in Dublin said local gardaí in Sligo were appealing for witnesses after the crash on the N4 at Collooney roundabout in Sligo.
“The collision occurred at around midday. The cyclist, a woman aged in her 70s, was later taken to Sligo University Hospital,” the statement from the Garda last Sunday week added.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to the crash to come forward or any road users who may have video footage of the incident to make it available to them.
