Cyclist (40s) dies after crash with driver on Sunday morning in north Dublin

A cyclist in his 40s has died from injuries he sustained in a crash with a driver in Kinsealy, north Dublin, on Sunday morning

A cyclist was killed in a crash with a driver in a car on Sunday in the Kinsealy area of north Dublin. The crash occurred on Malahide Rd at Kinsealy at about 9.30am.

Gardaí have launched an investigation and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward, including any other road users with video footage.

"The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries. He has since been pronounced deceased," Garda Headquarters said in a statement.

"The Malahide Road at Kinsealy is currently closed and the services of Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested. Local diversions are in place.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Malahide Road in the Kinsealy area between 9am and 9:30am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí."
