Cyclist (20s) seriously injured in Dublin crash involving two drivers in cars

A cyclist in his 20s has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a road traffic crash in north Dublin involving drivers in two cars. Gardaí have appealed for information as part of their investigation into the case of the crash early on Monday morning.

The crash occurred on Mellowes Road, Finglas, Dublin 11, and the cyclist was described as being in a serious condition in hospital.

"At approximately 6.30am gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the collision which involved two cars and a cyclist," a Garda statement said.

"The male cyclist (20s) was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

"Any road users who may have camera footage - including dash-cam - and were travelling on Mellowes Road between 6.15am and 6.45am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí."
