A teenage e-bike cyclist who was hospitalised after he was in a crash involving a driver in a car has died from his injuries. The crash occurred last week and though medics tried to save his life, the 18-year-old's death has now been confirmed by gardaí
The fatal crash, in Waterford City last Sunday, is under investigation by local gardaí. While they appealed in the aftermath of the crash for witnesses to come forward, they have re-issued that appeal now that the victim has died.

"The cyclist, a male aged 18 years, who was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious injuries has since died. The local Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision come forward. Any road users with camera footage, including motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time, are asked to provide it to investigating gardaí."
