Mid race the young riders drop back to the team car to complain about the cold. The advice from the manager is, erm, old school and delivered rapidly.
When you're getting it hard post-Christmas try channeling this guy
Most of us have been there; tired, wet, cold and feeling sorry for ourselves in a race.
We drop back to the team car looking for sustenance and support. And if the team around us is any good, that’s exactly what we get.
But the directeur sportif of Italian amateur outfit Team Unicash Due C was clearly having one of those days in the clips below.
He was behind the wheel as his riders raced in the wet and cold. And as they dropped back to the car for a bit of a moan, our DS became emotional.

When the first rider in the clip comes to the team car, the manager holds it together reasonably well.
He suggests if the cold is getting to the young rider he should go to the front and ride really hard.
But when the next of his young charges drops back to the car, the patience has been spent.
“I know it’s cold, I can’t do shit about. Wanna hop in the car?” he tells the rider before he even has a chance to get his complaining underway.
When asked if they had anything hot, to eat or drink, in the car the manager replies: “Yeah sure. We can stop by the bar and have some tea.”
He then lets rip at the rider, dispatching him back to the peloton.
In fairness to the DS; the second clip below is a longer version of the same race and our hero comes across very well.
The riders win the race and the manager is clearly delighted, going around hugging all and sundry.
