Having already confirmed that club races and training groups can resume immediately – as of yesterday – and that open races will return from July 17th, Cycling Ireland has issued a range or protocols for all kinds of cycling activities after the Covid19 lock-down.
These include for club training, for road racing and for
other events and races across disciplines such as track, BMX and paracycling.
The national governing body has also issued a questionnaire
that applies to participants planning to take part in any race or group
activity, including group training.
If cyclists answer ‘yes’ to any of the following
questions they should not take part in a group activity.
- Are you currently diagnosed with or believe you may have COVID-19?
- Have you had any of these symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days? High temperature; a new continuous cough; new unexplained shortness of breath; sneezing or runny nose; a sore throat; loss of smell?
- Have you been in contact with a COVID-19 confirmed or suspect case in the previous 14 days?
- Have you provided direct care for COVID-19 patients in the past 14 days?
- Have you visited or stayed in a closed environment with anyone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
- Have you travelled together with COVID-19 patient in any kind of conveyance in the past 14 days?
- Have you arrived in Ireland from another country in the last 14 days - this includes Irish citizens travelling home?
The protocols for
club activities and for events are far too voluminous to outline in detail
here.
However, no
matter what events or group activities you plan to take part in, you should find
what you are looking for in the links below.
