Cycling Ireland staff at Rio Olympics enlist serious armed security!

Stacey Kelly has worked for An Post-Chainreaction, JLT Condor and the Irish team. And now she's in Rio on international duty at the Olympics - and taking no chances!

With the Irish two-man team of Nicolas Roche and Dan Martin riding the men's Olympic road race in Rio tomorrow, Saturday, they've been in Brazil a few days now with the Cycling Ireland officials.

And two of those support workers - Dan Martin's father Neil and soigneur Stacey Kelly - wasted no time in organising some armed security for themselves.

The shot below - shared by Stacey on Instagram- shows the grinning Irish team duo looking very comfortable in the capable arms of the Brazilian army.

The troops have been deployed along with thousands of additional police officers and personal security detail put in place by many nations and athletes to provide the tightest security possible.

Let's hope all goes without a hitch; the Brazilians are certainly kitted out and on alert for any security incident if these guys are anything to go by!
