Cycling Ireland seeks volunteers to work at Dublin UCI Cyclocross World Cup

An Irish team - two elite men and two elite women - will race alongside the top pro names at the Dublin round of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup next month

Cycling Ireland has launched an appeal to recruit volunteers to work at the UCI Cyclocross World Cup when it comes to Dublin for the ninth round of the series in December.

Many of the best riders in the world are expected to travel to Dublin for the World Cup racing, which will be held on the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown on Sunday, December 11th. The elite men's and women's events are part of the World Cup.

Cycling Ireland has now said it is "recruiting volunteers" who will perform a number of tasks on the day and they are asking interested parties to register that interest before November 20th.

"The prestigious event will see some of the sport's biggest names descend on the capital as the 9th round is set to be staged in the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown," Cycling Ireland said of the Dublin round of the World Cup in its shout-out for volunteers.

You can register your interest in becoming a volunteer by following this link. Anyone who registers their interest and is accepted to work as a volunteer will be provided with full details closer to race day.

Irish cycling fans are hopeful that the biggest stars of the sport - Wout van Aert (Jumbo Visma), Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) - will be back in cyclocross action next month and will come to Dublin to race.

Added to the big pro names, Cycling Ireland has also decided to field a national team, of two men and two women, in the races. A number of other Irish riders will also be selected to race in their own club or team kits.
