Darnell Moore tops the Cycling Ireland A1 rankings after the first month of the new road racing season.
The Caldwell Cycles man enjoyed the winter months, taking the Irish elite hill climb and cyclocross championships.
He has clearly continued to get stronger over the winter, though incredibly remains overlooked by those selecting Irish U23 teams.
He won the Tour of Ards last weekend with a long range solo move from the breakaway. Before that he had been 2nd at the Boyne GP and 3rd at the McCann Cup.
Moore also collected ranking points for 7th in the Spires GP and 4th in the Annaclone GP.
He has a total of 38 ranking points so far, just two ahead of Lindsay Watson. The PowerHouse Sport man is yet to score and win this season, but that is surely imminent.
He took 2nd in the PJ Logan Cup, and 3rd in both the Tour of Ards and Annaclone GP. Watson was 7th in the John Haldane and 4th in the Spires GP.

Marc Potts is 3rd, also with 36 points. He collected most of those on the St Patrick’s Day weekend with three wins in as many days.
Potts took the St Patrick’s Day Road Race, McCann Cup and Annaclone GO. And he also claimed 5th in the John Haldane.
With a feast of racing on this weekend – all of which to be covered by stickybottle – the rankings may look a little different by the time Easter is over.
In the junior rankings Cathir Doyle of PowerHouse Sport leads the way from a trio of NRPT-Chill Insurance mean.
Doyle, who rode Gent-Wevelgem for Ireland last weekend, has already won two races this year. He took the McCann Cup and John Haldane Memorial; picking up 10 ranking points for each.
He also picked up points for 8th at the St Patrick’s Day Road Race and 6th in the Spires GP.
Next in line in the rankings are Conor Halvey, Sean Kennedy and Shay Donley. All top eight riders in the junior rankings are NRPT-Chill Insurance or PowerHouse Sport.
Nathan Keown of North Down CC is the highest ranked junior outside this two teas; in 9th place.
