Cycling Ireland has named the Irish national team that will take from next Tuesday, July 11th, and will once again be based around Ennis in Co Clare. This year a large number of Irish juniors have impressed at home and abroad, giving rise to difficult decisions for the selectors.

This year's event clashes with the Ain Bugey Valromey Tour in France, from July 12th to 16th, and a number of the top juniors in Ireland are opting to ride that event instead of the Junior Tour.

However, only a small number of the leading Irish junior cyclists will be going to France and the Junior Tour promises to be an intense battle as it has attracted leading teams from abroad, mostly notably the US, in recent seasons to race against our homegrown talent.
