The 2016 racing season starts in three weeks but if you haven't yet received your racing licence you need to read this and make sure the onus isn't still lying with you.

The 2016 season gets underway in three weeks and for anyone who hasn’t yet received their Cycling Ireland competitive licence, the word from the federation is not to worry.
Currently, there is a maximum wait time of two weeks on competitive licences.
“Some licences take longer than others to process,” said a Cycling Ireland spokesperson.
“All competitive licences need to be approved by a club official before the member can make payment and this could take a couple of days, depending how often the club officials log in and approve their members.
“We expect a maximum time-frame of two weeks on all competitive licences but some started going to print last week and the first batch has already been sent out.”
One issue that could delay the process is if riders pay by direct debit.
These transactions can take a week or longer for the payment to go through.
Another possible reason for delays in ridings receiving licences arises when clubs decide all licences should go to one official for distribution to members.
It means some riders won’t receive their licences at all and will need to contact their club secretary.
It’s also worth noting that those registering as unattached riders bypass the ‘club approval’ stage of the application process.
So once their payment is made they will be issued with a licence number and their licence should be processed within two to three days.
However, should your licence not arrive in time for the first race, riders can to download a PDF copy of their licence number online.
This will cover you if you haven’t received your hard copy and commissaires will be able to give out temporary race numbers at early season events, though you may be asked for ID when signing on.
