There will also be a full team for the U21s men’s race. Ben Wilson, Brendan Conroy, and Shane O’Sullivan make up the team.

The competition makes a return after the 2020 competition did not go ahead and the 2021 edition was paused. It marks the final weekend of the Enduro World Series, giving a chance for national teams to qualify for EWS Global Rankings.

Ireland is among 25 nations competing in the men’s event. 12 nations will compete in the U21 event and 11 in the Masters event.

The last time that the event was held, was in 2019. It was team USA that took the win in the men’s competition. This year there Team Canada, Team Australia, and Team New Zealand are all top favourites.

“The team came together really easily and everybody is looking forward to racing,” said Cycling Ireland Off-Road Commission Enduro rep Al Redmond. He added that “we’re excited to get over there, getting on the trails and representing Ireland. There’s a good buzz going around.”
