Cycling Ireland and Irish Veteran Cyclists’ Association are joining forces

The IVCA is joining Cycling Ireland as a club after previously having promoted veterans' racing as an independent organisation

The Irish Veteran Cyclists’ Association (IVCA) is to affiliate with Cycling Ireland having previously operated as an independent body organising veterans’ races in Ireland.

According to
Cycling Ireland, the IVCA will become a new club within the national governing
and both will work together to increase participation in cycling across the
island.

Cycling Ireland
added the IVCA has a “strong
record of hosting high quality events which cater for women over 35 years and
men over 40 years of age”. The IVCA promotes more than 75 events – road races,
TTs, track racing and touring events – every year.

Further
information about the IVCA Cycling Club League will be available when more certainty is reached amid the Covid-19
pandemic, Cycling Ireland said.

apply to join the ICVA league via Cycling Ireland during the annual intake
period, which is normally between November and January, with a fee payment to

While existing registrations for 2020 racing are rolling
over to 2021, membership of IVCA CC is currently at full capacity meaning it
