Conor Dunne squares up against his very small new team mate

Tallest and smallest: Conor Dunne squares up against his new team mate, the Colombian Edwin Ávila.

Conor Dunne has signed for Israel Cycling Academy and he's currently enjoying meeting up with his new team mates and support staff for the first time.

And that means one thing; seeking out the smallest rider in the team for a side by side shot with him.

Dunne is the tallest rider in the pro peloton and Colombian Edwin Ávila is one of the smallest. This photo of them side by side at their team camp in Spain tells that story.

The former Colombian national champion is just under 5ft 5inches. Conor Dunne is 6ft 8inches, so let's hope they never need to borrow each other's kit!

Dunne does a steady line in tallest and small photos, being snapped down the years squaring up against some of the more diminutive riders in the bunch, below.

Always a great sport, we wish him well for next season with Israel Cycling Academy.

His signing for the team was confirmed in recent weeks and followed the ceasing of Aqua Blue Sport.

Dunne had ridden for Irish team Aqua Blue Sport for two seasons. And before that he competed with Sean Kelly's team, An Post-Chainreaction.
