You’ve heard from the men of the An Post Rás on their minds and bodies, but what about the bikes that won the overall classifications?

King of the mountains star Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz (An Post Chain Reaction) and A2 classification winner Ronan Costelloe (Newcastle West CC) have already shared the specs of the machines that carried them to their victories.

And now it’s the turn of overall winner James Gullen of JLT Condor to rattle through the bike that carried him to the final yellow jersey last month.

James Gullen and JLT Condor team mates all rode the 2017 Condor Leggero.

Handmade in Italy, the Leggero is a carbon aero frame; the brand’s flagship racing bike with a price tag to match.

The frameset will set you back more than €3,400 and that's obviously before you get stuck into the rest of this bike.

Gullen’s bike was a 54cm with all the team trimmings from Campagnolo,  Fizik and Speedplay.

They included the Campagnolo Record EPS 11-speed groupset, Fizik Cyrano handlebars and stem, and Fizik Arione R1 saddle.

The latter was mounted on an aggressive in-line Condor seatpost for more power over the cranks.

Having raced in Ireland before - and indeed won a Rás stage - Gullen opted for Campagnolo Bora One tubular wheels.

He used Continental Race Tubular tyres, measuring 25mm because of the changing weather.
