The Irish contingent left to right: Sean Downey, Ryan Mullen, Marcus Christie and Jack Wilson. Not present was the only other Irish rider on the team Conor Dunne

Sean Downey is now entering his third season with the squad and on the basis of his two one-day outings thus far he looks in good shape and can do plenty of damage.

Marcus Christie has already ridden very well in France in the first weeks of the season and will be looking for more of the same.

It's good to see Christie in the green of An Post-Chainreaction. He's overcome the kind of injuries that would have broken most other riders to get to where he is this year.

Ryan Mullen is a very special talent and after his recent 4th in the pursuit at the World Track Championships great things are expected from him.

An Post-Chainreaction has seen the departure of Sam Bennett and Ronan McLaughlin but they've taken in Mullen, Dunne and Christie to ride alongside the "old hands" of Wilson and Downey.

Jack Wilson is a rider who progressed very nicely in his first season with the team last year and with that season of experience in the bank he'll be looking to continue to get stronger.

Mullen is best known for his exploits against the watch, but in his first season with the team this year he'll get plenty of road racing at a higher level.

He's not really ours but we'll take him back! Robert-Jon McCarthy grew up in Fermoy, Co Cork, until he moved to Australia aged 14 years with his family. He has since become an Aussie international and is a former junior national champion there. He's starting his first season with An Post-Chainreaction

Group shot: There are more English speaking riders than ever with the team this year, all looking for results in the shark infested waters of European cycling.
