Collection of great photos and some video from 'Irish Corner 10' on Alpe d'Huez today

The brainchild of Stephen O'Shea and Ronan Fox, Irish Corner 10 was absolutely packed with the travelling Irish on Alpe d'Huez today, with most of those present having travelled from Ireland but many descending on the legendary climb from their homes across the world.

The idea was that Irish fans would all meet and, erm, generally make merry on hairpin 10 on the famed climb, with the Dutch having met on Dutch Corner for years to party hard.

According to stickybottle's Brian Canty, who has been in France this week, the day was a roaring success.

"Dan Martin and Nicolas Roche had a tough day out there but they got massive support the both times up the climb," he said.

"Some people were saying there were 500 Irish people there and others were saying 1,000, so you can pick a number in between; but it was definitely really well supported and it felt to me like it will catch on in a very big way."

"There were a good few people there from the racing scene back home but also loads of people who are just fans of cycling and wanted to be there to cheer on the Irish lads and just be part of the atmosphere. Everybody was in great form and it really was a carnival atmosphere. When Roche and Martin went by they got huge support."

We've put together a collection of shots and a bit of video for you; enjoy.

The lads gave it their all; fair play!

The calm before the storm.....

Get up the yard!

These lads look like they enjoyed it.
