Chris McGlinchey has landed a contract with a UCI Continental team for 2019. The Irish rider took a break from racing for most of last year but is a classy rider.

One of the best riders on the home scene in recent years, Chris McGlinchey, has landed a contract with Continental team Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brothers UK.

McGlinchey, who took the silver medal in the National Road Race Championships in 2017, has officially started his tenure with the squad today, February 1st.

He took some time away from cycling last year to go travelling around the world.

However, he would return to racing in the latter part of the summer and won the North Down GP.

McGlinchey is a former top downhill rider turned road racer. He began road racing in 2015 as an A4 and had progressed to the A1 ranks in just over two months.

McGlinchey joins Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brothers UK as the team has greatly strengthened its roster.

Former Dimension Data rider Scott Thwaites has signed, as has Olympic track gold medallist Ed Clancy as well as Chris Latham, Ali Slater and Joe Holt.

Adam Kenway, Timothy Torrie and Liam Davies are the three riders who are back for more having ridden with the team last year.
