Chris Froome has taken to Twitter to jokingly share photo
evidence that he is actually present at the latest Team Ineos training camp.
About a week ago reports surfaced in the Italian media
stating Froome had departed a recent training camp early.
It was reported the four-time Tour winner’s recovery from
his crash last year was not going well and that he had pulled out of the camp
after just two days due to complications.
The story spread from the Italian media across to the
cycling press, being widely reported.
Froome eventually took to social media saying he wanted
to clarify the last camp he was at was in early December. He also insisted his
recovery was going well.
However, he did not address the main point of the media
reports; that he had been forced to leave a team camp early due to complications
with his recovery.
He has now put that behind him and Tweeted a photo of
himself in a Team Ineos training group clearly intended as proof he was present
and training today.
He tweeted out the photo, which includes Eddie Dunbar,
with the message: “On training camp… or maybe not. No, really I am.”
With the season starting in a matter of weeks in Europe, Froome will soon have all the opportunity he needs to silence the doubters; if his condition allows.
