He won the Rás twice and now Philip Cassidy has gotten the seal of approval from Tour de France Chris Froome.
Dubliner Paul McCormack also won The Big One twice; claiming the Rás final yellow jersey in 1987 and 1988.
Meath man Cassidy did things a little differently. Not for him were back-to-back wins. Instead he claimed his first Rás title as a fresh-faced 21-year-old in 1983.
Many successes in other races would follow. But it wasn't for another 16 years that he would claim it again; lifting yellow once more in 1999.
McCormack met Chris Froome on a training ride in Miami yesterday.
The former Irish pro and Philip Cassidy have now progressed onto the week-long Race the Rás sportive in recent years.
But he still wanted to know from Froome whose two Rás triumphs counted the most.
And the current Tour champion (who is not a Man of the Rás by the way - Ed) wasn't shy in offering his view, as the clip below shows...
