Chris Froome in his hospital bed in the aftermath of his crash. However, he now claims he is doing five hours of rehab per day to get back to the peloton

Chris Froome has said he knew he was in real trouble
after his Dauphine TT recon crash when he looked at the reaction of the people
around him.

He said the team personnel who rushed to his aid told him
immediately he would not be riding the Tour de France.

And while he joked it was like a moment from Grey’s
Anatomy as it dawned on him how grave his situation was, he is clearly
emotional recounting the story.

He said he felt “hopeless” after waking up from surgery. But he was buoyed by the surgeon telling him he could fully recover, adding “that’s all I wanted to hear”.

Of late he has done three to four hours of physio every morning, followed by a break and then two hours of exercises, adding his "days are full" as he tries to recover and rehabilitate.
