A lot of changes to the Irish Nations Cup team means Sean McKenna of UCD CC (above) rides Rás Mumhan on the Irish team along with Jason Prendergast (Liquidworx-Fitscience)
The Irish U23 development team for this weekend’s Kerry Group Rás Mumhan has undergone a reshuffled line-up.
Cormac Clarke and Javan Nulty, both initially included in the team for Kerry, will link up with the national selection to ride Saturday’s ZLM Tour in Holland in the Nations Cup as well as tomorrow's Cote de Picardie in France.
It means they are not available to ride on the national selection in Kerry and so others get their chance.
Conor Dunne, Ryan Mullen, Eoin McCarthy, Jack Wilson, Conor McIlwaine and Nulty are in Europe and rode the U23 Tour of Flanders last weekend on the Irish team.
Nulty was named as reserve along with Clarke for the Nations Cups outings and Nulty was drafted for Flanders after Felix English was forced out.
And with Conor McIlwaine having suffered a broken finger last Saturday, Clarke has been drafted in to replace him.
They will ride the Cote de Picardie tomorrow and the ZLM Tour next weekend, meaning they will not be available to take up their places on the Irish U23 team for Kerry Group Rás Mumhan.
Jason Prendergast of Liquidworx-Fitscience and UCD CC's Sean McKenna will deputise in their absences on the Irish team alongside Dylan Foley, Sean Hahessy, Daniel Stewart.
Meanwhile, McIlwaine who crashed and broke a finger at Flanders had an operation on the finger yesterday to have it stabilised with a pin but is expected to be back for the An Post Rás.
