Cassidy extends lead in Ballinrobe Two-Day as Walsh takes TT

By Brian Canty

Colm Cassidy (UCD) extended his lead by one second in the Ballinrobe Two-Day this morning, Sunday, after he finished second in the time-trial.

Cassidy, who won yesterday's opening stage with some 20 seconds to spare over a small chase group, was second this morning to Anthony Walsh (Apoge-Super U) in the test against the clock.

Walsh set a blistering time of 8:36.28 with Cassidy clocking 8:38.75 while Murphy Surveys rider John Lynch was third in 8:51.95.
The result means Cassidy has a 23 second lead over Walsh going into this afternoon’s final stage, with Galway Bay's Nigel Forde in third a further 21 seconds back.

It should make for an enthralling final stage.
